This Privacy Policy explains what information the ALMA – American Latino Muslim Foundation (“ALMA”, “we”, “us”), formerly Latina Muslim Foundation, collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Donations

This website does not have its own donation form and does not collect payment details. When you choose to donate, you are taken to our donation page on Kindful (latinamuslimfoundation.kindful.com), a donor-management and online-giving service. Kindful and its payment processor collect your name, contact details, and payment information to process your gift and send your receipt, and handle that information under Kindful’s own privacy policy. We receive the details of your donation from Kindful so we can thank you, send receipts, and keep records of support.

If you email or call us, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, phone number, and message.

2. Information collected automatically

Server logs. Like most websites, our web hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time. This is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website.

No analytics or advertising tracking. We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, or social media tracking pixels on this website.

Cookies. This website does not set cookies when you browse it as a visitor. Cookies are only used for website staff who log in to manage the site.

3. Third-party services that load on this website

Some parts of the website are delivered by outside services. When your browser loads them, those services receive your IP address and basic browser information and handle it under their own privacy policies:

  • YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com), only if you choose to play one of the YouTube videos on our Media or Our Shelters pages;
  • Kindful (latinamuslimfoundation.kindful.com), our online donation page, which opens only when you choose to donate;
  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com), which provides the typeface used on the site;
  • Trustindex (cdn.trustindex.io), which displays our Google reviews, including reviewer names and photos published on Google;
  • Hostinger, our hosting provider, which hosts the website, and loads a script from its email-marketing service (cdn-reach.hostinger.com). We do not currently run any newsletter sign-up forms.

YouTube. Our Media and Our Shelters pages include videos from YouTube. To protect your privacy, these videos do not load until you press play, and they then play through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Once you press play, YouTube (Google) receives your IP address and browser information and may set cookies under its own privacy policy. Any other videos are hosted on our own website.

4. How we use your information

We use the information we receive about donors and people who contact us to:

  • process and acknowledge donations and send receipts;
  • respond to your questions and requests; and
  • keep a record of support for our organization.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share it with others, except with the service providers that help us run this website and process donations, or when required by law.

5. How long we keep it

We keep donation and contact records for as long as we need them to acknowledge gifts, meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations, and maintain our records. You can ask us to delete information that we are not required to keep.

6. Your choices

You can contact us to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also tell us at any time that you do not want us to contact you again.

7. Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them through the website. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how this website collects or uses information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
